FAQs
What should I wear?
The dress code is “summer cocktail vibes” and you can interpret that as you wish! Since we’ll be standing on grass a lot, sturdy-ish shoes might be a good idea. With the classic unpredictable UK weather, it’s worth preparing for all eventualities—suncream for sunshine and a layer for when it gets cooler.
Are you accepting gifts?
Your presence is more than enough for us! However, if you really want to give a gift, we’ve set up a registry here with a few experiences for us to enjoy on our honeymoon. Thank you for thinking of us!
Will there be parking at the venue?
Yes! There will be free parking super close to the barn and tents, so you won’t have far to walk.
Can I bring my kids?
Absolutely! We would love for you to bring your babies and children. Elmley is the perfect spot for them to run around and explore, and there will be some magical nature activities to keep them entertained. We’ll also make sure they’re catered for, and the accommodation can be set up with travel cots or extra beds as needed.
What do I need for the wild swimming pond?
For anyone keen on joining us for a cold water plunge, remember to bring some swimwear! The fresh water swimming pond is accessed via a jetty as you head out onto the main reserve footpath—perfect for a refreshing dip.
Will I be sharing a tent, and can I choose my group?
If you’re happy to share a tent, let us know on your RSVP form. We’ll group you with close friends (we won’t put people together who don’t know each other!). The lead guest in your group will receive the details, and if you’d like to change your group at any point, just let us know—we’re happy to help.
Do I need to bring anything for the tents?
You shouldn’t need to bring anything, as bedding, towels, and essentials are provided. However, not all tents have plug sockets, so if you have a power bank for charging your phone, we recommend bringing it along. You can take a look at the Elmley website for more details about the tent facilities.
What bathroom facilities are available?
All Elmley accommodations have private showers, toilets, and some have outdoor baths overlooking the reserve. For those staying in the bell tent meadow, there are hot camping showers and toilets just a short walk from your tent.
What if I don't want to stay at Elmley?
That’s absolutely fine! We’ve put together a list of nearby accommodation options, which you can find here. Feel free to book your own place if that suits you better.
